Please take a moment to express your enthusiasm, alignment and support for the Road to Freedom Cycling and Pedestrian Trail while there's still time.

We are excited to invite you to join us in supporting the North East Towson Improvement Association (NETIA) in their grant application to the Forest Service for the purpose of improving urban forestry in the community.

By downloading and signing our endorsement letter, you can make your voice heard and help to improve the quality of life for all residents of Historic East Towson and the broader community.

The NETIA has been a responsible steward of our community's resources for over 40 years, promoting community engagement, advocating for the preservation of our natural resources, and improving the quality of life for all residents. Their proposed project, "Mapping the Road to Freedom," will involve replanting original trees found along a five-mile walking trail used by freed slaves traveling from the Hampton National Historical Site to Historic East Towson, where living descendants of those slaves still reside.

This project is not only important for preserving the historical legacy of our community but also for improving our urban forest canopy, increasing equitable access to green spaces, and promoting environmental justice. By signing our endorsement letter and sending it to your local, state, and federal elected officials, you can help to ensure that this project receives the funding it needs to succeed.
